Dr. Bruce Ellis moved his family to Gisborne in 1981 and started the practice in December of that year. He has been in continuous practice in Gisborne ever since.
As well as a Bachelor in Behavioural Science, he has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chiropractic, a post graduate Masters in Chiropractic Science and a post graduate Certificate in Paediatrics.
Bruce has a broad spectrum practice, using natural and herbal medicines along with kinesiology and a number of different chiropractic techniques to aid your healing.
Bruce has taught at both RMIT and the Australian College of Natural Medicine. The Gisborne practice has been, and is currently, used by RMIT as a Mentored Practice-Integrated Learning centre since 1985. In 1998, Bruce was asked to join the Education Committee of the Victorian Chiropractors Registration Board and in 2005 he was appointed to the Board itself. Since the amalgamation of the State Boards into the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Board he serves in several roles for that organisation.
Elected to Life Membership of Chiropractors Association of Australia in 2008 (the youngest person to be awarded life membership), Bruce has been awarded the Presidential Certificate of Appreciation by the Chiropractors Association of Australia (National) in 1998 and 2005. Bruce was made a Fellow of the Australasian Academy of Chiropractic for services to chiropractic. He was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation in 1999, an Outstanding Service Award in 2001, and was adjudged the Chiropractor of the Year in 2002 by the Victorian branch of the Chiropractors Association of Australia. He was the Macedon Ranges Citizen of the Year in 2005. Currently serving Scouts Australia as State Leader Scuba, Assistant Leader Trainer and National Scuba Instructor, he has been presented with the Silver Wattle Medal in 2006, the Silver Koala Medal for Distinguished Service to Scouting in 2012 and Silver Emu Medal for Sustained and Exceptional Service to Scouting in 2016.
Bruce spreads his time over his family, chiropractic, scouting, underwater photography, teaching first aid and scuba diving mainly to scouts.
